Essential oils can actually pierce the cell membrane because they are oxygenating to the cells, and go directly to your DNA. Therefore, your DNA can be reprogrammed, by combining the use of essential oils with your thought process. Attend a class on Aromatherapy and uses of essential oils to find out how to use them for natural healing.
Essential oils are the "blood" of the plant and have been used in ancient cultures like Egypt for the balance of body, mind and spirit. They are antiseptic and so can act as protection from disease. They are powerful oxygenators and have the ability to act as carrying agents to deliver nutrients to human cells.
There is a synergy between with the human body and essential oils. As the oils of the plant, they act in a similar manner as the blood of the human body. When we cut ourselves our blood goes to that area to cleanse it from bacteria and help heal it. When a leaf of a plant is cut, the essential oil of that plant goes to that cut to also cleanse it from bacteria and help heal it. Essential oils are made up of oxygen, nitrogen and carbon just like the human body, which allows the human body to easily absorb the oils. Oils are also lipid soluble so they absorb well when applied to the skin. Inhaling therapeutic grade oil is another way to get benefits. When oils are inhaled thru the olfactory, its nerves respond to the electrical signals of the oil going from the olfactory to the pineal, hypothalamus and pituitary, which may have such effects as increasing endorphins, neurotransmitters and antibody production. Research now shows that the amygdala may be where our brain processes emotions so by inhaling we may help balance our emotions.
In order for the human body to receive the optimum affect from essential oils, they must be a therapeutic grade. Many producers of essential oils put additives into their essential oils such as alcohol to stretch their crops' yield thus producing more yield with as little actual essential oil as possible. These additives fracture the chemical constituents of the essential oil so it therefore won't have a therapeutic effect on the body. Do not inhale non- therapeutic grade oils because you will inhale the chemical additives.
As massage therapists we want the optimum affect for our clients. I have been using essential oils for over twenty years and sifted through many brands trying to achieve optimum effect for my self and my clients. Ten years ago I discovered the therapeutic grade Young Living Essential Oils and myself, overcame serious personal physical condition with them. Because of this I know that these are the only oils I could use in my healing practice and they have helped my clients to experience healing on many levels. Learn more about these oils by visiting taking one of our classes.
All citrus oils and Bergamot are photosensitive. After applying them to the skin that area of the skin should not be exposed to sunlight for at least three to four days. There are also some essential oils called the hot oils, such as cinnamon and oregano that should be diluted before applying to the skin. There are other circumstances when oils should be diluted. A good oil to become familiar with when starting to use essential oils is Lavender (lavendula angustifolio), which is referred to as the "universal oil" because it may be used for many things.
In conclusion, essential oils can be a vital addition to balancing the body, mind, emotions and spirit when used with careful attention and knowledge. As an alternative to traditional methods, essential oils can be easily used with profound results as well as total enjoyment for this gift to mankind from mother earth.
